This project came about as a result of someone asking me, "So what kind of music do you listen to?" and me not really knowing how to describe my weird taste in music.
The Spotify API lists music genres for (most of) the artists in its system, so I thought this would be a good place to start. I collected the artist and artist genre for every track in the playlist, and turned the results into a wordcloud.
I quickly realized that Spotify has some really weird genre names.
